Christmas Holiday Activities in Manteca

We enjoyed having Tina and Brian near for Christmas! The holidays started with celebrating Aaron's birthday who just turned 6 on Dec. 17th. Aaron and I had a date to go see Bolt. We had a great time! Cute movie!

We spent Christmas morning at home with David, Kendra and the twins. Later we went to Tina and Brian's and enjoyed another Christmas celebration.

New Year's Eve, Del and I kicked it up a notch and went dancing at our Stake New Year's Eve ball. We had a great time! Beautiful decorations, balloons, food, games, they had it all! Too bad I didn't take my camera!

As usual, the holidays sailed by and now I must go back to work! Hopefully I will be able to download some pictures soon! Jenna helps me keep my blog current and she will be visiting in February so that I can upload more pics! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a prosperous New Year!

David and Kendra's Wedding Date: August 9th, 2008

David and Kendra with Grahm and Liberty will be married on August 9th. Del and I will increase our grandchildren by 2 making 8 blessings in our lives so far!

Fun at the Zoo with Gigi and Papa!

Gigi, Andrew and Adam checking out the elephants! Oh! No! Where did Aaron and Annie go?

Aaron is checking out the Giraffe Bacon in the Makon! Aussie is enjoying the view! He's about to spill right out of his stroller!

Annie found a new friend. That goat knows when he's licked!

Watch out Jailee! We have another turtle in our family! Adam likes his new armour!

We had the opportunity to take our Wood grandkids to the Oakland Zoo while Tina and Brian went through the temple. We had lots of fun! I think Aaron may have been checking out the Giraffe's too long and got giraffe bacon stuck in his head!

The kids loved the play ground and we had a fantastic day with them!

I am sure Brian and Tina enjoyed the peacefulness of the temple as well!

Del Works While Jan Plays!

Del is hard at work doing a month long training in Los Alamitos, Ca. He is training for a new job with IDEARC selling advertising for Verizon Phone Company. He is excited for the change. While Del is busy learning new things, I am off from work playing on this blogspot. Fortunatley I have Tina and Jenna to keep me straight since I am a new blogger! Thanks for your help girls!!!!
I figure I should use my time wisely this summer so my plan is to do some family history work on the familysearch.org. I also want to clean out and de-junk the house so that we can install some new flooring.
David and I went down over July 4th weekend to LA area. He visited with Kendra and her family while I stayed with Del in the Marriott Residence Suites. Del and I had a wonderful visit. We traveled all around the beaches along the coast, visited the Queen Mary, walked all around Downtown Disney and viewed the fireworks outside of our hotel room.
We spent lots of time getting to know Kendra, her Mom Cindi, and her other brother Zach from Washington and Erin and Rob from Taylorsville, Utah. We discussed the wedding and enjoyed a walk along the beach. Wedding date is scheduled for August 9th!!

Family History Moment

Del and I first met when he was called to teach genealogy with me in our student ward at BYU. He came by the apartment to meet me. I recall him wearing a flannel shirt with a big smile. He was very friendly and flirted with a few of my ten roommates, but we were just friends. We would go out and do things together at times as friends till one day Del asked me to go to his missionary reunion and he introduced me as his girlfriend. Eventually, sooner than later, that came true. We met in April and dated through July and got engaged around August of the same year. We were married in December. Del swears I asked him to marry me first but I recall walking to his apartment and he asked me to stop he wanted to write something on my foot. He wrote, "Will you marry me?"
Del and I were married in the bicentennial year of our country on December 3rd, 1976. Our wedding colors were red, white and blue keeping with the momentous occassion. We were married in the Oakland Temple. That was almost 32 years ago. How time flies! You cannot call it back. Our lives have been a marvelous journey filled with happy, exciting, wonderful times and difficult times as well. I am grateful to the Lord for my good, faithful, devoted husband. I am extremely blessed to have a beautiful, eternal family consisting of 4 beautiful daughters and 4 wonderful, responsible son-in-laws, 2 handsome Dahle sons to carry on the family name, and 6 active grand children. We love them all!!
